Patricia Fabián is Associate Professor of Environmental Health and Associate Director with the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability (IGS). She conducts research and teaching focused on health and environmental health disparities in the built environment, decarbonization initiatives in current and future climate, and the design of heat adaptation and mitigation interventions at the individual, household, community, and city levels. She co-directs a study of heat exposure and vulnerability in the cities of Chelsea and East Boston, and currently serves as member of the Climate Science Advisory Panel of the Massachusetts Office of Climate Science. Patricia holds a ScD in Environmental Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, a MS degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder and is a graduate of the BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering program of the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Mexico).
