Valinda Chan is a human-centered design lead, organizer, and community engagement leader working at the intersection of environmental, economic, health, and housing justice. With deep roots in communities of color and immigrant communities, Valinda champions inclusivity and accessibility in their work. Co-leading Mothers Out Front East Boston and Mutual Aid Eastie, Valinda addresses environmental and social justice issues in East Boston, a predominantly working-class, immigrant community of color. Valinda has built strong partnerships and coalitions, including the Logan Community Clean Air Coalition, uniting diverse perspectives from urban planners to health specialists and community organizations. Leveraging their prior experience as a User Experience Design Lead creating digital products at technology companies including HubSpot and Wayfair, Valinda brings a wealth of expertise into their current community engagement and civic design work.
